Fish Curry Recipe

Want to eat fish curry but don't know how to cook it. Don't worry...

Here's a simple recipe for making a delicious fish curry:

Ingredients:

500g fish fillets (such as tilapia, cod, or salmon), cut into chunks

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

1-inch piece of ginger, grated

2 tomatoes, chopped

1 tablespoon tomato paste

1 teaspoon ground turmeric

1 teaspoon ground coriander

1 teaspoon ground cumin

1 teaspoon chili powder (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon garam masala

Salt to taste

1 cup coconut milk

Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish.

Cooked rice or naan bread for serving.

Instructions:

Prepare the Fish: Rinse the fish fillets under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels. Cut them into bite-sized chunks and set aside.

Saute Aromatics: Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or a pot over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until it becomes translucent, about 3-4 minutes. Then, add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Add Tomatoes and Spices: Add the chopped tomatoes to the skillet along with the tomato paste, turmeric, ground coriander, ground cumin, chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes have softened and the spices are fragrant.

Cook the Fish: Gently add the fish chunks to the skillet, being careful not to break them apart. Coat the fish with the tomato and spice mixture. Pour in the coconut milk, stirring gently to combine. Bring the curry to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

Serve: Once the fish is cooked, taste the curry and adjust the seasoning if needed. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves. Serve the fish curry hot with steamed rice or naan bread.

Enjoy your delicious fish curry! Adjust the spices according to your taste preferences for a perfect balance of flavors.
